I was amazed at how efficient and quick the panels were fitted. We didn’t have to pay a deposit upfront, Chris arranged for the scaffold to be erected the evening before, the team arrived at 8.30 and had finished by 2pm. the scaffold was taken down the same night.it was all very easy and the price was over a thousand pounds cheaper than my cheapest quote.

Chris was a pleasure to deal with from first contact to completion of the installation. I am very pleased with the performance of the equipment and the way it was installed. Everything Chris organised happened on schedule and he was always responsive to any request for information and clarification.

I was worried about the amount of paperwork but it was so easy, Eden Power did everything for me and explained exactly how it all worked. They were very friendly, efficient and even tidied up after them selves! I really would recommend them.

Impressed with Chris and Liam. They struggled a bit with getting the kit as there seems to be a UK wide shortage but it all came together more rapidly than other firms were quoting. They gave advice on the best set of kit to get and now with batteries and iboost for hot water my gas boiler is switched off and power bills for summer will be very small. Need to wait for winter to see how everything performs then.

Thank you Eden Power Ltd for your recent help, survey and quote for a job contracted, signed and paid for with a firm subsequently no longer trading. The job involved extra roof panels, batteries, an invertor and EPS switch which had never been fitted. After advice from Chris and his son I was able to claim a substantial refund from my bank. I have no reservations in recommending Eden Power Ltd.

Solar Panel FAQ's

How much money can I actually save on my electricity bills?

Most UK homes can save £200 to £500 per year, depending on energy usage, system size, and whether you have a battery. With smart use and export payments (like SEG), savings can be even higher.

Solar panels work best on south-facing roofs with minimal shade, but east- or west-facing roofs can still be efficient. Panels also work well across the UK, even on cloudy days, though output is lower in winter.

The average payback period in the UK is around 8 to 12 years, depending on energy usage, system cost, and any export income. Panels typically last 25+ years, so savings add up over time.

A typical 3-bedroom home needs a 3 to 4 kW system, which usually means around 8–12 panels, depending on your roof space and energy usage. Installers can advise based on your usage history.

In most cases, no, solar panels fall under permitted development in the UK. Exceptions may apply for listed buildings, conservation areas, or ground-mounted systems, where permissions may be needed.

Yes, if you install a solar battery, you can store excess energy for use in the evening or during grid outages (if your battery supports backup). Batteries increase self-sufficiency but add to upfront cost.

Yes. The main current support is the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG), which pays you for unused solar electricity sent to the grid. The 0% VAT incentive on domestic solar and battery installations (until 2027) also helps reduce costs.

Modern panels last 25–30 years or more, with minimal maintenance. Occasional cleaning and system checks are recommended. Inverters may need replacing after 10–15 years, but warranties often cover key components.

Solar panels still generate power on cloudy days—just less. If you generate more than you use, excess energy can be:

  • Stored in a battery (if installed)

  • Or exported back to the grid, earning you money via the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG)
